TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC & ORLANDO (10 Days)

I have travelled to nearly 48 countries during the past 25 years and in fact had the opportunity of travelling with various travel Agents in Sri Lanka The trip on May 2nd 2011 to Orlando, Miami Beach and Kennedy Space Centre etc. which was organized through Scenic Ventures (Pvt) Ltd with whom I travelled for the first time has been a memorable experience. Due to the smooth functioning of travel arrangements done by Cosmos Tours with less tension and anxiety, every move on a busy itinerary was hazzle free to the very letter. Our tour director Ms.Julie and the tour guide driver were both in fact very hospitable kind and understanding which made long hours of travel extremely comfortable, on a coach driving for long hours to Los Angeles, Miami beach, Keywest, St.Peters burg etc.. It is pertinent to mention that after completing the 10 days tour on the very last day prior to departure at J.F.Kennedy air port though there were nearly 25 in the group who were from different parts of the world each one was bade Good bye by the others who were in our group. Thereafter our tour guide gave us a note with contact numbers in the event of any emergency of any difficulty encountered before departure at the airport to contact them which is worthy of praise as many do not render a service after their part is over( to elaborate) .

Last but not least my special thanks goes to Miss Enoka De Zoysa, General Manager/Partner who did an excellent job with dedication the needs of the client whom I only met once at the time of collecting my travel documents prior to departure on the entire trip barring a few calls.

COSMOS EUROPEAN TOUR

I give below a short account of the "Cosmos Tour" which you may compile into your website :-
The "Cosmos European Tour" of thirteen days covering seven countries and additionally Rome arranged through "Scenic Ventures" which we joined in august / september 2011,we could vouch as the best we had undertaken.
Every detail had been looked into and the tour Director - a very knowledgeble young lady -performed her assignment exceptionally well.

At every place,very good comfortable accomadation was made available and added to it was the hassle free baggage delivery and collection at the room door.
With the highlights of a Gondola ride in Venice and treasures of Rome including visits to the vatican museums,the louvre art gallery and sistine chapel,a canal cruise in Amsterdam,a cruise in river Rhine in Austria and a cruise in river reuss in Lucerne in Switzerland culminating with a visit to the famous Eiffel tower in Paris coupled with a typical "cabaret" show made it a very enjoyable and memorable tour

A TRIP OF A LIFETIME

Thank you so much for 'Welcome back' flowers - A really sweet gesture and much appreciated!

I can truly say it was a 'trip of a lifetime' - we cannot repeat it even if we tried!
All arrangements made by you - hotels, eurail, transfers, were spot on - a very special
mention of 'pick up/drop off' which made our travel so easy and comfortable as there were
no delays nor waiting and all of them were so courteous, helpful, pleasant, and it was a huge plus
point in our travel.

We could have done without Valencia, but that was our choice!

Barcelona was my best, with Granada and Madrid close behind. Lisbon was delightful and I enjoyed
every minute of it, including the overnight train ride! Going to Fatima and Sintra was super and the
shopping was brilliant!

Sangria went down really well with the ladies and the local dishes at street cafes, on the beach,
as well as fine dining restaurants were super! Of course, two Chinese meals had to be thrown in!

Wow - 10 ladies on the run (11 in Barcelona) what a team! I must admit, all of us got on extremely well and
my appreciation and thanks to each and everyone for making this trip so memorable and enjoyable.

MOSCOW/ ST. PETERSBURG TOUR

The 7day/8 night trip to Moscow/St Petersburg organized by Enoka de Zoysa was perfect from the moment she took over.

The hotels were good in a moderate sense, guides brilliant-in fact the best I ever encountered-transport superb and food adequate. There is an overdoing on Cathedrals and Churches especially for Buddhists but Sri Lankan interests like Bolshoi or Markets or Parks or Atmospheric Streets are underdone. Full marks to Intourists, local agent, they take good care.

Tour works to precision but then we worked to times so it was reciprocal. Guides worked to tight schedules of serving dinner sharp on time in the night rail private cabin or had sufficient time to drop into an atmospheric café off schedule due to time at hand. Put it a nutshell- Don’t be like the Indians who report 30 minutes late.

The flip side -ensure the agency know you are Asians as they await Europeans on the platforms since booking is from London. Hospitality services in hotels are very poor. Russians till you get to know them are unfriendly and distant being old world communists. Get to know them-Russians are nice people who work to the rule book-no flexibility. If lost talk to young people. If sick don’t take chances-medical services are rock bottom- sick are left to die or recover due to natural causes.

Remember not to fly Sri Lankan till they have a local agent in Moscow. Its run by a Russian company that does not know of a business lounge and we stood for 4 hours at the airport that has virtually no seating, while the flight was defrosted. Our crew is prohibited off the plane and you are with no support.
